Police and Coast Guard still searching for missing American woman

By BBN Staff: An American woman is missing after a night on a Belizean island.

She is Allison Mckenzie, 43.

The Arizona native booked a trip with Raggamuffin Tours from Caye Caulker to Rendezvous Caye, 21 miles east of Belize City on Friday.

However, when her boyfriend woke up on Saturday morning she was gone.

He told police that she was last seen around 10 o’clock on Friday night wandering the island and reportedly consuming alcohol.

However, since then there has been no trace of her except for her belongings.

According to police, Mckenzie entered the country last December and was scheduled to stay until May so her sudden disappearance is questionable.

Police and members of the Belize Coast Guard have since launched a search and rescue operation for her safe recovery.
