Fisheries Department announces changes in services due to COVID-19

By BBN Staff: Today the Fisheries Department announced its new measures in light of the national response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The new measures, which become effective on Monday, March 30, include no longer seeing walk-in customers, and making public visitations by appointment only; only applications for renewals of fisherfolk and vessel licenses will be received and the Department will be applying the guidelines for social distancing in terms of entry to the compound; applications for seafood permits are suspended until further notice; research permit applications will only be received online; and, all drop-off of packages to be done at the security booth.

The department encouraged the public to submit their applications/queries online via email addresses: Fisheries Department [email protected] for all matters; Senior
Fisheries Officer (Mr. Rigoberto Quintana): [email protected] for all matters, including queries about Enforcement; Hampton Gamboa [email protected] or Lyndon Rodney [email protected] for enforcement; Adriel Castañeda [email protected] or Mrs. Alicia Eck-Nuñez [email protected]  for Marine Reserves; and Felicia Cruz [email protected] for research Permits.

The department also said that the public can follow their social media pages for additional updates.
