Bar owner and patrons jailed for social distancing violations

By BBN Staff: Sometime around 8 o’clock on Saturday night police were on patrol in Libertad, Corozal.

That was when they saw several persons at a bar drinking and sitting closely together.

As a result, those persons and the owner of the bar were all detained.

Those persons were identified as Isaiah Sedacey, 26; Jose Velasquez, 42; Jose Chan, 18; Euegen Fuentes, Jermy Martinez, 39; and a 17-year-old minor.

They were all charged with failure to comply with social distancing measures.

While the owner of the bar, Jose Quintanilla, was charged with failure to close down the bar.
