Soldier and civilian collide in fatal road traffic accident

By BBN Staff: A soldier and a civilian were involved in a road traffic accident last night that claimed the civilian’s life.

Reports are that just before 7:00 p.m., Hilberto Tush, 31, unemployed of Maya Mopan Village was riding his motorcycle along the Southern Highway near mile two when he had a head-on collision with an SUV being driven by Nateone Nunez, 22, a soldier from Belmopan City.

Tush was severely injured and taken to the Southern Regional Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
