Over 100 UDP supporters call for removal of Frank ‘Papa’ Mena

By BBN Staff: A leaked letter signed by over 100 UDP supporters from the Dangriga constituency calls for the removal of their Area Representative, Frank ‘Papa’ Mena to contest the upcoming general elections.

The leaked letter comes after the UDP Dangriga executive had written to UDP Party leader elect, Patrick Faber explaining that Mena has lost too much ground and it would be difficult for him to recuperate it and secure the seat for the UDP.

The leaked letter expresses concerns over the absence of Mena in the constituency, a division that allegedly exists among executive members and that the selection of the executive was ‘illegal’ and ‘unethical’.

The UDP supporters note that given the fact that Mena has not been officially endorsed as the UDP standard bearer for the constituency, they demand a convention to be held expeditiously.

One of the supporters told BBN that they are reaching out to their party leader to deal with the situation but if it falls on deaf ears, they will be hosting a press conference to express their own concerns.
