Posted: Thursday, August 6, 2020. 5:07 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Minister of Education, Patrick Faber, said today that teachers, except for those who live and work in areas where full lockdowns are imposed, are still expected to return to work.

Faber explained that under the current emergency regulations to come into law tomorrow, several villages in the Orange Walk district and the entire island of Ambergris Caye (San Pedro included), will be on lockdown. However, teachers in those areas will not be expected to return to work.

He went on to say that all other teachers are expected to return to their schools and continue to make preparations for the eventual reopening of schools.

In making his presentation, Faber noted that a new reopening date has still not been determined.
