Miss Belmopan Myra Sibrian is to be crowned Queen of the Bay 2020/2021

By BBN Staff: Miss Belmopan, Myra Sibrian has been selected as the Queen of the Bay designate for 2020/2021. The Pageant was held this evening and was conducted virtually for the first time at the Belize Biltmore Plaza, and was aired live on Channel 5.

Five (5) candidates participated in the 75th edition of the prestigious pageant, namely Miss Kersha Pelayo (Belize district), Miss Leah Correa (Corozal), Miss Meesha Magdaleno (San Ignacio/Santa Elena), Miss Latrese Pastor (Stann Creek) and Miss Myra Sibrian (Belmopan).

The tradition-rich pageant began in 1945 with Rita Lewis as first Queen and has continued through social upheaval and change, even surviving scandal in 2017 when judging controversies led to the crowning of two Queens.

Miss Myra Sibrian is expected to be crowned on September 10 by Kimberly Santos who won last year’s pageant and served as the Queen of the Bay 2019/2020.
