Special Envoy condemns video of woman being forced to perform oral sex on Facebook live

By BBN Staff: Today, the Office of the Special Envoy (SEWC) for Women and Children, issued a statement today condemning a recent video being shared of a woman being forced to perform oral sex on a man in an outrageous Facebook live video.

The SEWC notes that the situation represents a gross violation of the victim’s human rights and appeals to members of the public to refrain from further victimizing the woman by resharing the video.

“As a woman, as a mother, as a daughter, as an aunt, as a friend, as a fellow citizen of this country, I am deeply disturbed by this video…” Barrow said. “I hope that the proper authorities will investigate the matter to determine any criminal wrongdoing and to take swift, decisive action on this matter.”

Barrow notes that gender-based violence has devastating impacts on the victim’s ability to enjoy their fundamental rights and freedoms and also causes devastating effects on their mental and physical wellbeing.
