Introducing new CEO for Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Nicole Solano

Posted: Saturday, November 28, 2020. 1:42 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: The new right-hand to Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Nicole Solano, comes equipped with decades of experience in the travel industry, not to mention marketing and communication.

She began work at Kitty’s Place Beach Resort, currently Los Porticos Villas, in Placencia, before coming up to Belize City to head human resources, sales, and marketing at Belize’s most recognized hotel, the Radisson Fort George.

Solano has held the position of Director of Marketing and Public Relations at the Belize Tourism Board, as well as Executive Director at the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA). She was most recently a managing partner at Idea Lab Studios where she worked with clients in the sector.

Solano brings a familiarity and affinity with the tourism product much needed to restore Belize’s previously glittering reputation after the ravages of COVID-19. She is versed in regional and international tourism policy through her work with the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), the Central American Tourism Integration System, and Mundo Maya Project.

When she isn’t working, Nicole Solano is an avid volleyballer who has been an administrator with the Belize Volleyball Association in a voluntary capacity since 2017 and participated in the regional meetings of the Central American (AFECAVOL) and Americas (NORCECA) confederations.

BBN welcomes Nicole and Minister Anthony Mahler to their posts as a tag team that will ensure Belize is no longer “Mother Nature’s Best Kept Secret.”
