Posted: Saturday, December 26, 2020. 10:05 am CST.

By BBN Staff: The largest vaccination campaign in history has commenced with over 3.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in 7 countries.

In the United States of America, vaccinations began on December 14 with frontline workers and 1.23 million doses have been administered.

A second vaccine by Moderna Inc is being distributed.

This week, the US is allocating 5.1 million doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine.

Also being distributed is 6 million doses of Moderna’s shot.

The second doses are being held in reserve until they’re ready to be administered.

Among countries in North America, Europe, and the Middle East, the Pfizer-BioNtech vaccine has now been approved.

The Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine and the shot from Moderna were both found to reduce coronavirus infections by 95% in trials of tens of thousands of volunteers.

In July and August, China and Russia authorized their own vaccines.

Bloomberg reports that a total of 6 vaccines are available for public use, in limited quantities.

Countries have invested billions into developing new vaccine technologies for testing them in volunteers, scaling up manufacturing, and then bringing them to market in record time.

Together, the vaccines represent humanity’s best choice of ending the COVID-19 scourge,

A total of 8.15 billion doses have been set aside by countries who have struck deals to obtain the vaccine.
