Man and minor die in a road traffic accident on Southern Highway

By BBN Staff: A man and a minor, 16 are dead, following a road traffic accident in southern Belize yesterday.

Reports are that the minor, Edwin Marquez was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a pickup truck at mile 43 on the Southern Highway around 6:00 p.m.

Juan Veliz, 47, was injured during the collision and died later while receiving medical treatment. There were four others in the pickup that received varying injuries; however, reports are that none of those injuries were serious.

Police are investigating.
