Police: The murder victim was killed for his vehicle

By BBN Staff: A Corozal man was killed today and police have confirmed that it was in the commission of a robbery.

Police have identified the victim as Michael Escalante.

He was killed this morning between miles 33 and 34 on the George Price Highway, and his red Wingle pickup truck was stolen.

Officers are still currently trying to intercept the vehicle, which is believed to have headed down the Coastal Road after Escalante was killed.

This is a developing story.
