Weather: Rain later tonight breaks up fair conditions

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service says shower activity will pick up later today after a bright start.

Skies will be sunny today, with isolated showers, but tonight will see mostly cloudy skies with a few showers and periods of rain over northern and inland areas, spreading to the coast by Tuesday morning.

Winds are from the east to southeast at 10 to 20 knots, sea state is light chop.

High temperatures will reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 94 degrees over interior areas and 84 degrees in the hills. Low temperatures will be 76 degrees over the coast; 70 inland and 64 in the hills.

High tide will occur at 12:23 p.m. this afternoon while tides will be low at 6:41 a.m. and 6:50 p.m. The Sun rose at 6:19 a.m. and will set at 5:54 p.m.

The extended outlook sees periods of light rain and a few showers affecting mostly coastal areas on Tuesday, gradually decreasing and become isolated by Tuesday night.
