By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The FFB’s Women’s Department is organizing a fundraiser raffle to help pay for referee Rutilia Useda’s knee surgery.
Iris Centeno, director of the Women’s Department at the Football Federation of Belize said that they’re raising funds to help Rutilia Useda, a woman referee who broke her knee some time ago and had to get knee surgery over the last two weeks.
“One of Belize’s most outstanding and respected female referees had a bad injury lately,” Centeno posted on her Facebook page. “She underwent surgery and we are trying to assist her in as many ways possible. Asking you all for your support.”
Centeno said they have organized a sports basket raffle at $5 per ticket. The sports basket includes a Belize National Team blue jersey, a pair of football boots, a woman’s shirt, two footballs (different brands), and shin guards.
The sports basket raffle will be done on Mother’s Day, May 9.
