Cayo Central forms new First Responders team

Posted: Tuesday, June 1, 2021. 2:36 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: Cayo Central has formed its new first responders team. The group of volunteers will be responsible for flooding response, assistance in finding missing persons and fire response.

The group of volunteers include Former BDF officers, special constables and other trained volunteers.

The group will engage in further training of more volunteers who wish to contribute by being a part of the team.

The founders of the group were instrumental in rescuing a family from an area behind the San Ignacio hospital last year.

The group is expected to liaise with NEMO in response to flooding.

Their next meeting is June 10 and volunteers are invited to join since the hurricane season is now officially open.

The meeting will be held at the Cayo Central office on George Price Highway in Santa Elena.
