Cayo vegetable vendors robbed

By Benjamin Flowers: Two vegetable vendors from the Cayo district were robbed yesterday.

Reports are that Silvia Monteroso, 27, and her common-law husband, Jose Rufino Hernandez, 28, were selling vegetables in the Another World area of Roaring Creek village around 11:45 a.m. when two men approached them.

One of the men pulled out what appeared to be a homemade firearm and demanded money. Fearing for her life she handed over $600 to the men, who then ran off.

Police are seeking two suspects.
