Bowen and Bowen staff robbed in San Ignacio after robbers failed to open safe box in their truck

By BBN Staff: San Ignacio police are investigating the armed robbery of three Bowen and Bowen delivery truck employees that took place yesterday.

Reports are that the truck driver and his sidemen pulled up at a shop located in the Kontiki Area of San Ignacio Town around 3:45 p.m. when they were approached by three men. One of the men had a shotgun, the other a crowbar, and the third man had a knife. The man with the shotgun fired six shots into a safe box inside the truck attempting to open it, but could not.

Realizing that the box could not be opened, the robbers then stole wallets, cash, and cellphones from the driver and his sidemen then ran off into nearby bush.

Police are seeking one suspect for questioning.
