Nearly 203,000 persons have been vaccinated, approximately 160,000 are fully vaccinated

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: 202,865 persons in Belize have been vaccinated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine according to the Thursday, October 14 COVID-19 Vaccination Report released by the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW).

The MOHW said that by Thursday, 159,631 persons had been fully vaccinated in Belize.

2,407 persons 18 and older were vaccinated since the previous report on Wednesday, October 13.

Up to October 14, a total of 27,110 persons between 12 – 17 years of age have been vaccinated with Pfizer vaccines.

The MOHW is vaccinating with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines.

Persons wishing to vaccinate may visit vaccinating sites countrywide and may also register online for an appointment.

“Vaccinations are now available for everyone; 18 years and older,” said the MOHW. “Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness’ health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine. We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often. Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
