208,300+ have been vaccinated, 190,800 have received two doses

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) reported on Thursday morning that 208,344 persons in Belize have now received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

The MOHW COVID-19 Vaccination Report for Wednesday, November 17 indicated that 190,806 persons have been fully vaccinated in Belize.

In total, 442 persons 18 and older were vaccinated since the previous report.

Up to November 15, a total of 28,798 persons between 12 – 17 years of age have been vaccinated with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines. Sixty-three persons were vaccinated in this category since the previous report on November 15.

In all, 505 persons countrywide were vaccinated since the previous report on Tuesday.

The MOHW is presently vaccinating with AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) vaccines.

The MOHW said vaccinations are now available for everyone; 12 years and older. Persons who have been vaccinated for at least 8 weeks are asked to visit any Ministry of Health and Wellness health facility to get their second dose of the vaccine.

“We also advise that even after getting vaccinated, persons are to continue wearing a face mask properly in public, maintain consistent physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and wash and sanitize hands often,” said the MOHW. “Please be safe and stay at home unless conducting essential business.”
