Minister of Agriculture discusses hunger, school feeding, school gardens with Special Envoy and House Speaker

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise Jose Abelardo Mai discussed hunger, school feeding and school gardens, among other topics, with Special Envoy Rossana Briceño and the Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. Valerie Woods as part of the Parliamentary Alliance.

“The discussion was involved and cordial,” said a press release by the Government of Belize Press Office.

“The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) fully supports all the efforts in these areas and is currently involved in providing seedlings and processing flour from bananas for healthy snacks,” said the statement.

Present for the meeting were National Food and Nutrition Security Commission coordinator Emilio Montero and MAFSE Policy Analyst Milagro Matus.
