By Benjamin Flowers: Following the news of the untimely death of former Prime Minister of Belize, the Right Honourable Dr Manuel Esquivel, Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow has publicly expressed his condolences.

Barrow took to Facebook this afternoon, offering his sympathies to Esquivel’s family and paying respect to his legacy.

“Sir Esquivel’s contributions to Belize and the United Democratic Party will forever be treasured,” Barrow said. “May your soul Rest In Peace and your memory of prudent, collective governance live on.”
Sir Manuel died at a local hospital a short while ago.

His family is reportedly preparing a statement which will be issued shortly.
