Family tied up at gunpoint in Hattieville home invasion- vehicle stolen

Posted: Sunday, February 27, 2022. 7:52 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: A Hattieville family was awakened early this morning to a group of armed men in their home.

Thirty-three-year-old Theodor Gabourel reported to police that around 12:30 a.m. he was at home, sleeping when he awoke to the sound of someone screaming “police.” He opened his eyes to find a man standing over him with a long-barreled gun pointed at his face.

Three men then tied him up along with his other family members, and then searched his home, making off with an undisclosed amount of cash and Gabourel’s 2014 Toyota Hilux.

He managed to free himself and went to the Hattieville police station to make a report just after 4:30 a.m. He was issued a medico legal form for injuries sustained during the ordeal, while his other family members were unhurt.

Police are investigating.
