Gilroy Thomas and Tarique Swazo in court for murder of Emroy Tracey

By Aaron Humes: Twenty-six-year-old security guard Gilroy Thomas and 24-year-old construction worker Tarique Swazo, both of Iguana Street, Belize City, today appeared in court on a joint charge of murder.

Thomas and Swazo are accused of stabbing to death Emroy Tracey, 23, a call center agent, at the corner of Iguana and Curassow Street on Saturday last while hanging out.

Before Senior Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson, the charge was read and no plea was taken.

The pair were denied bail and remanded to the Central Prison until their next court date on June 21, 2022.

Tracey and others were socializing when an argument ensued and he was stabbed with a knife which police recovered. He succumbed to his injuries approximately three hours after the fatal fight.
