Police to train 150 new recruits in latest intake squad

Posted: Friday, June 17, 2022. 11:48 am CST.

By Aaron Humes: On the heels of more than 200 new recruits coming out of the Police Training Academy only in December, another 150 are being recruited to further swell the Police Department’s ranks.

Cabinet announced today that it had approved the start of recruiting Intake Squad 96 by the Ministry of Home Affairs & New Growth Industries. Training would take an estimated six to eight months.

Persons wishing to apply to join the Police Department must have completed a minimum of high school education. A recommendation from their area representative is no longer a requirement.

Application forms may be downloaded from the Department website – www.belizepolice.bz – or obtained from your nearest police station. Submit the form, a recent Police record, and other supporting documents to the head Police Station or Training Academy in Belmopan by close of business on June 30.

Applicants must be Belizean, between 18 and 35, no shorter than five feet, five inches; and be of exemplary character.
