Belize Weather: All wet

The National Meteorological Service projects continued moist and unstable conditions for the next few days.

Today’s forecast sees mostly cloudy skies with some showers, thunderstorms and light rain over most areas this morning and mainly inland this afternoon before skies turn cloudy again at times tonight with showers or thunderstorms over the south and coast.

High temperatures peak at 83 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 86 degrees inland and 77 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 78 degrees along the coast; 72 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The sea will be choppy with waves of three to five feet. A small craft caution is in effect for gusty winds and locally rough seas near heavy showers and thunderstorms. A flood watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding in flood-prone and low-lying areas.

Tides will be high at 12:44 this afternoon and low at 8:14 this evening. Sunset occurs at 6:29 this evening and sunrise on Sunday is at 5:18.

Skies will be cloudy at times on Sunday with some showers, rain and thunderstorms especially over the north and coast, increasing over most areas Sunday night.
