Businessman Darrel Carter charged for not paying Social Security for employees

By BBN Staff: Businessman Darrel Carter is out on bail after being charged for not paying Social Security contributions for his employees.

Carter was taken to the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he was read a single charge of failure to pay contributions payments no later than 14 days for persons employed by him for the period of April 2022.

In court, Carter pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which he met.

Carter, who is the owner of Carter’s Upholstery, is due back in court on July 20, 2022.
