By BBN Staff: On Friday, June 24, 2022, hundreds of Mexican same-sex couples got married in a historic ceremony after being cancelled for 2 consecutive years due to COVID-19.
Reuters report that traditional songs were played as couples said their vows and rainbow masks were pulled lower for first kisses as newlyweds.
In addition, a large wedding cake topped with rainbow frosting was shared.
In 2010, Mexico City legalized same-sex marriage and since then 26 of the 32 states have done the same.
