Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Grant to be used for Education and Energy, says PM

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Prime Minister John Briceno met with the team that will lead the implementation of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Grant.

In 2021, PM Briceno announced that Belize was selected as a recipient of the MCC Grant.

 Ana Hoare is the team leader and gave a presentation on the structure of the team and the work so far completed.

“I was presented with the timeline for the project’s implementation.  The funds received under the MCC Grant will be used in two sectors – Education and Energy,” PM Briceno stated.  

The MCC is an innovative and independent U.S. foreign assistance agency that is helping lead the fight against global poverty.

“MCC is committed to delivering sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction throughout the entire lifecycle of its investments,” its official website states.
