Belize Tourism Board donates $50,000 to National Celebrations Commission

By Benjamin Flowers: The Belize Tourism Board, in preparation for the month of events for the September celebrations made a $50,000 donation to the Belize National Celebrations Commission (BNCC).

The donation was made this morning by Anthony Mahler, Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, with Co-Chair of the BNCC Merilyn Young receiving the check on the commission’s behalf.

“The donation will be used to assist the BNCC with the planning and execution of the official events,” the BTB said.

The 2022 September celebrations are being held under the theme “Valiant and Bold! Proud and Strong! Belize Rebounds @41!”

Events began yesterday with National Flag Day, and continue this evening with the Street Fete event from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. leading up to carnival day 2022 which is being held under the theme, “We outside! We back pon the road.”
