By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Ladiville resident charged with injuring his wife during a domestic dispute has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

Thirty-four-year-old Mason Patnett appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with two counts of wounding.

Allegations against him are that on September 5, he started an argument with his wife complaining about a lack of intimacy, and accused her of being unfaithful.

The argument reportedly escalated and he allegedly pushed her against the sofa and hit her, causing a small laceration. The victim further alleges that on September 6, they got into another argument, which left her with scrapes and bruises.

The prosecution objected to bail on the grounds that Patnett may harm the victim again if released.

The court agreed and Patnett was sent to jail until October 24.
