By Breaking Belize News Staff: Four men charged with gang affiliation and making a video for gang-related purposes last year, still have their freedom after they were given fines and suspended sentences.

The men, John Grinage, 32, Sheldon Grinage, 29, Hubert Baptist, 32, and Brandon Baptist, 35, all pled guilty to their charges and were fined $1,000 each plus $5 cost of court each. They were also given suspended sentences of 18 months, which meant that they would not be incarcerated but if they were charged for any offense for a prescribed period, they would have to serve out the 18 months in jail.

The group had posed in a video on social media showing several unlicensed and prohibited firearms, which later went viral on social media. When detained by police the men denied any connection to gang activity, saying that the video was recorded on the set of a music video that was being shot in Belize City.
