Ministry of Health and Wellness observes International Day of Radiology

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today the Ministry of Health and Wellness is celebrating the International Day of Radiology (IDOR).

The objective is to promote the role of medical imaging in healthcare.

The Ministry noted that it acknowledges the vital role of diagnostic imaging personnel in both public and private health facilities and the numerous benefits of medical imaging services that have revolutionized healthcare globally.

“To the Radiologists, Radiographers, and Assistant Radiographers we extend appreciation for your diligence, effortlessness, and vital contribution to our health system,” the Ministry said.

The Licensing and Accreditation Unit, Ministry of Health and Wellness in collaboration with the Taiwan ICDF Strengthening Medical Imaging Project organized a picture/selfie frame competition to depict the critical role medical imaging plays in the patient’s journey and a continuing medical education session to highlight the importance of medical imaging in health care.

The Ministry thanked Taiwan ICDF for providing T-shirts and snack boxes for the diagnostic imaging staff across health facilities and the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority.
