On Friday, PM Briceno was welcomed by Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro.

“We have had a friendly, endearing day. A good day of work between the Government delegations of Belize and Venezuela, on common matters of cooperation, present, and future plans, and on the friendship between our peoples and governments,” Maduro said.

According to Telesur, PM Briceno and President Maduro reviewed common agreements in relation to Petrocaribe.

“Petrocaribe is resuming its path and will return with its drive and strength, it is reborn and will be reborn with great force,” Maduro added.

In addition, Maduro said that he will visit Belize soon.

PM Briceno stated that the Government and people of Belize are appreciative of the friendship and historical support of Venezuela.

“I can assure you that Venezuela has a real friend in Belize. And we will continue working to continue strengthening the ties of friendship in the future,” PM Briceno stated.
