By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, the first group of migrants entered the U.S. from Mexico using a mobile app designed to facilitate the process of applying for asylum, Reuters report.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Government noted that it would extend the use of the Customs and Border protection app to allow asylum seekers to enter their information as a pre-screening step for a U.S. appointment to request asylum.
According to reports, due to the high traffic and demand of the app, it is now telling applicants that it has run out of appointments.
Migrants are able to make an appointment then go to a border entry point specified by the app.
