By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Nineteen farmers from the village of Calla Creek in the Cayo District on Thursday attended a community meeting called by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise’s (MAFSE) Cayo Extension Department.
“The meeting was organized by the Cayo Extension Service Department with the purpose of updating farmers in the area about projects, training, and registration procedures,” MAFSE said in a social media post.
The Agriculture Ministry said the Cayo Co-operative Department also spoke to the farmers about what the department can offer the farmers and explained to the farmers the process to become a cooperative. The farmers were also sensitized on the importance of registering as a farmer and updating their production activities in Belize Agriculture Information
Management System (BAIMS).
