Assistant Commissioner of Police, Howell Gillett hands over footballs and jerseys to Belmopan Methodist High

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Howell Gillett handed over a donation of football jerseys and footballs to the Belmopan Methodist High School.

“We support our young people in every way we can with the view to make them as positive as possible,” Gillett said.

Gillett said that supporting the youths in sports builds team morale and spirit.

“It encourages physical activity. Sports are an important part of a high school student’s physical activity, and having access to proper equipment, such as football jerseys, can encourage more students to participate in sports,” he added.

In addition, students represent their school in sports and this fosters school pride.

Gillett thanked the sponsor who supported the plan to keep young people positive and delivering them into successful adults and better communities.
