Deputy Commissioner Dr Richard Rosado officially appointed; will he be ComPol Chester’s successor?

By Aaron Humes: The Belize Police Department officially has three Deputy Commissioners of Police following the recent appointments made by the Security Services Commission (SSC).

First announced in 2021, Dr Anthony Richard Rosado has been confirmed as Deputy with direct responsibility for Operations and Crime, while Bart Jones is Deputy in Charge of the Legal Affairs and Compliance Branch; it is not clear who is presently in charge of Administration.

Commissioner Chester Williams clarified that none of the three are superior to the other. Asked whether Dr Rosado is being eyed as his potential successor, the Commissioner said he would punt that question to the Prime Minister when that time ultimately arrives.
