Valley of Peace businessman killed in Belize City

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Jose Antonio Lopez, 35, a businessman from the Valley of Peace village in Cayo was killed in Belize City on Wednesday night, police report.

According to police, Lopez was at an establishment named Cool Spot on Barbara Harris Street in Belize City when he was approached by three men who were armed.

One was dressed in a black pants with yellow shirt and a mask, one in a black shirt and black cap and the other in a white shirt with black pants and a black cap. An altercation began between Lopez and the three men, one of whom was armed with a gun.

Lopez was shot to the body. The three suspects then ran down Barbara Harris Street. Lopez’s body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 1:07 a.m. on Thursday.
