By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize fell 12-2 to Panama on Tuesday in the U-15 Uncaf Boys FIFA Forward Championship at Liga Deportiva Alajuelense’s High Performance Center in Alajuela, Costa Rica.

Incidentally, ElevenSports reported the score as 11-2, but unfortunately for our cause the match finished 12-2.

Panama led 9-1 at the half. After being down 9-0, Belize scored two consecutive goals. Breyden Olivas scored in the 45’+2 after taking the ball away from a Panamanian defender and Devin Marshall converted a header after two failed attempts in the 52’.

This was Belize toughest game in the regional tournament after losing 4-1 to Guatemala on Friday and 7-0 to Honduras on Sunday.

Having played two games, Guatemala lead Group B with six points. They are followed by Panama with six from three games, Honduras with three points, and Belize without any points. Guatemala play Honduras today to close Group A action today. A draw is enough for Guatemala to top the group. If Honduras win, three teams will be tied with six points and goal difference should decide the ranking.

El Salvador lead Group A after beating Puerto Rico 3-0 on Tuesday. Costa Rica and Puerto Rico follow with four points each. Nicaragua don’t have any. Costa Rica need to beat Nicaragua to win the group. Should the game end in a draw or a Nicaragua victory, El Salvador win the group.

The BBNT will play against the last place Group B team in the ranking games on Thursday, May 4.
