International News: Mexican cartels fight for turf with road blockades near U.S. border

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Tuesday, feuding Mexican cartels blocked roads near Matamoros, across from Brownsville, Texas.

According to the Associated Press, gunmen forced students off a bus and used it as a blockade.

In addition, armed men carjacked vehicles around the city and parked them across roadways.

The Mexican army deployed 700 troops and 2 helicopters to the area.

Law enforcement authorities say that the blockades were caused by 2 rival cartels, the Gulf and Jalisco cartel.
