Calcutta Bulls beat Sarteneja 4-2, win back-to-back Corozal Football Championships

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Calcutta Bulls won the Corozal Football Association’s First Division Football Mayor’s Cup for a second season in a row after defeating Sarteneja 4-2 in the final on Sunday at the Calcutta Football Field.

Shane Morgan scored a brace for Calcutta in the 30^th and 36^th minutes after Sarteneja opened the scoring on a goal by E Rosales in the 22^nd minute.

The Calcutta Bulls then went ahead 3-1 when Clayton Villanueva converted in the 67^th minute.

Then, D. Moralez put Sarteneja in contention when he nailed the Calcutta goal in the 74^th to put the game within reach at 3-2.

However, J. Williams put the game away in the 90’+4 for the final 4-2.

Clayton Villanueva of the Calcutta Bulls was named the Most Valuable Player. The Bulls also raked the Best Goalkeeper award by Elmer Zetina and the Best Forward award by Shane Morgan.

Sarteneja picked up the Best Defender award given to Erenelson Clavel, the Best Midfielder award by Einer Patt, and the Top Goalscorer award earned by Rayjan Jones.
