By Aaron Humes: 31-year-old Zhu Bin Deng of Coney Drive pleaded guilty to three traffic offenses but denied possession of methamphetamine following a stop by police.
Deng was charged with driving a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance; using an unlicensed motor vehicle, and driving a motor vehicle without a valid Belize driver’s license. He was fined for all three offenses to a total value of $400 and cost of court, due respectively by the end of July, August and September.
However, he denied possession of 1.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine and possession of a four-inch green plastic pipe made or adapted for smoking a controlled substance. On these charges, he was offered and met bail of $1,500. Additionally, his driving privileges were revoked for a year from June 19, 2023, to June 18, 2024.
