By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Sixteen police employees that were kidnapped on Tuesday by armed gunmen have been released.
According to the AssociatedPress, Chiapas Governor, Rutilio Escandon confirmed that they were released.
However, details were not shared.
Following their abductions on Tuesday, Mexican authorities deployed more than 1,000 officers to search for them.
Officials have indicated that there is an ongoing turf battle between the Sinaloa Cartel and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
