Hit-and-run kills “Rich Kid”

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man was fatally knocked off his bicycle on Friday night along the busy Philip Goldson Highway, in front of A&R Enterprises Limited.

According to police, 52-year-old Radcliffe Codd, alias “Rich Kid,” was riding toward the Belama area when he was hit from behind by a vehicle going the same direction. The Kia continued on without stopping to render aid. Codd was left unconscious, face down in the middle of the highway and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital with severe head and body injuries, ultimately dying on Sunday morning.

Police say they have obtained a description of the possible offending vehicle based on surveillance cameras in the area and are presently searching for it. Their investigations continue.
