Police poring over Ricardo Borja recording for clues to his murder

By Aaron Humes: Salvadoran businessman Ricardo Borja was gunned down outside his residence near Coney Drive on Saturday night, August 19, and so far the investigation has centered on alleged business dealings that may have contributed to someone wanting him dead.

A voice recording of Borja speaking to someone else has been uploaded to YouTube along with a written timeline of events involving Borja.

The recording revealed numerous names and fraudulent business transactions involving land and money, perhaps intended as insurance against Borja’s untimely death.

Appearing on Channel 7 News’ Sunup Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police, had little to say by way of update but noted that a “prime suspect” has been identified: “Well yes some names were called in the recording and we have received that recording. The investigators are looking at it and there is certainly going to be a need to call in some people to be interviewed. We have one prime suspect we are looking at, at this time, but I don’t want to go too much into it because the matter is still pretty much under investigation and I don’t have to say nothing that maybe jeopardize the investigation.”
