Belize City Council congratulates Cohorts 5 and 6 of Accelerator Program

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize City Council has extended congratulations to 30 participants of cohorts 5 and 6 that completed the council’s accelerator program.

“Here in Belize City, we believe that the best social program is putting our people to work and having families experience the dignity of providing for themselves while contributing to the local economy,” the Belize City Council noted.

Mayor Bernard Wagner and Councillor Edmund Kwan launched the initiative that focuses on local economic development and small businesses.

The cohorts have received their well-deserved program certificates and startup contributions.

The Belize City Council thanked sponsors including Axiory Global Limited, the Taiwan Embassy in Belize, and BELTRAIDE.

“Your support has assisted with empowering our program participants by providing them with essential training and tools, equipping them to lead profitable and sustainable businesses within our beloved Belize City,” the council added.

Since its inception in 2020, the Belize City Accelerator Program has remained steadfast in its mission to empower residents, strengthen economy and lay the foundation for sustainable development.

More than 140 entrepreneurs have benefitted from this transformative program.
