Mechanic charged for allegedly stealing cellphone

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City mechanic is out on $1,000 bail after being charged with allegedly stealing a woman’s cellphone.

Ryan Harold Herbert, 24, appeared in court unrepresented on Friday and pleaded not guilty to a single count of theft. He allegedly stole a woman’s phone on September 8 on Youth for the Future Drive.

There was no objection to bail and he was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same. The court also noted he had outstanding fines due to the court from previous charges and he was required to pay the remaining $115 from previous fines before he was granted bail.

He is due back in court on November 13.
