Leader of the Opposition grants 31 High School scholarships countrywide

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The Leader of the Opposition, Shyne Barrow is providing High school scholarships to 31 deserving Belizean students.

“We will be giving a total of 31 full scholarships to high school students in each Constituency across the Country.

As Party Leader, I am blessed to be able to expand the EOB Barrow education fund to cover students from the 31 Constituencies,” Barrow said.

Barrow created the fund in 2015 and it was named it after his great grandfather Eboneizer Oliver Bunton Barrow.

Bunton Barrow was the District Commissioner of Belize and Secretary of the National Party that merged with the HIP to become the NIP and finally the UDP.

Barrow noted that the fund was created for the Mesopotamia Students and has since expanded to all constituencies in Belize with the collaboration of his standard bearers.

“The UDP has always been and continues to be committed to empowering youth through education,” Barrow expressed.
