Belmopan City Council transforms Independence Park on National Service Day

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: As Belize celebrates National Service Day in honor of the Father of the Nation, George Cadle Price, the Belmopan City Council engaged in acts of community service.

“On this significant day, we reflect upon the values and principles that late Hon. Price held dear, emphasizing the importance of community service and unity in building a stronger, more inclusive Belize. Hon. Price’s unwavering commitment to public service continues to inspire us, reminding us that together, we can achieve greatness,” the Belmopan City Council noted.

The Belmopan City Council paid tribute to Price’s enduring vision by repainting park benches at the Independence Park and Parque Las Americas.

They also conducted clean-up campaigns at the parks.

“As a community we must foster the spirit of civic engagement and pride within our community. We encourage residents to actively participate in the betterment of our beloved city,” a statement from the Belmopan City Council added.

The Belmopan City Council reiterated the importance of remembering Price’s commitment to civic pride and let his legacy guide us as we strive for a more prosperous and harmonious Belize.

The Belmopan City Council expressed gratitude to those who joined in celebrating National Service Day.

They also expressed gratitude to Comex Belmopan for donating the paint.
