By Horace Palacio: During yesterday’s Independence Day address, Prime Minister Briceño disclosed a significant development on the clean energy front. The government has signed a $144 million loan agreement with the Saudi Fund for Development to build a 60-megawatt solar plant.
“Clean and independent energy will complement multiple investments underway in power distribution, water, and sewerage systems, and a national road network,” said Briceño. He noted that the World Bank is also expected to support this ambitious endeavor.
The move is part of the government’s broader vision to develop a “thriving nature-positive economy that is people-centric,” aligning with the ongoing Industrial Strategy based on Blue, Green, and Orange policies.
